Are you local to 30A?
Yes! I have lived in South Walton over half my life and have been photographing families on the beaches along 30A since 2001. I have photographed every type of sunset, weather condition, area beach, month of the year, and group from 1-40 people. Family beach sessions present a lot of very unique challenges for the photographer and my many years of experience doing only this are a major asset.
Are you permitted to work on the beach in Walton County?
Yes. We hold all the necessary beach vending permits and insurance to photograph on the beach in Walton County. We also have extensive knowledge of the area and can advise as to which areas you’ll be authorized to use during your session. If you are staying within the specific boundaries of Rosemary Beach, Alys Beach, Seaside, Watercolor, or Watersound will will help you procure the proper permission to be photographed on the property.
When will my proofs be available?
Your ordering appointment takes place 1-2 days following your session, in our Inlet Beach studio.

Over 90% of our clients are on vacation during their photo session, so we specialize in making the entire process easy. There’s nothing worse than spending hours and hours reviewing an online gallery and all of the confusion that comes along with it. We want you to go home with great memories of your vacation, not another project to complete! You’ll view and order your photos in about an hour. Hassle-free. This gives you the opportunity to ask questions, let us help you choose the best images and best ways to display them. You will also get to touch and feel what you’re ordering so there’s no guessing.

How should we prepare for our ordering appointment?
Once you’ve booked, we will provide details on how to make your ordering appointment quick and easy. This may involve photographing the walls of your home and emailing them in advance. You will be amazed at what we can do with this! Please be prepared, with an idea of where you would like to display your photos, prior to your ordering appointment. All ordering decisions will be made at this time.
How much does it cost?
We are a full-service studio, focused on delivering family heirloom style products. We do offer digital files as an additional option, but our goal is for you to wander past a portrait of your family – on the wall in your home – for many, many years to come. Beach portraits during peak season (May-September) are in very high demand as there’s a limited number of sunsets! Portrait session fees vary. Most families invest $1500-3000 on a variety of printed products. Please schedule a consultation with us to view pricing in detail.
Where do you shoot beach portraits?
There are several options. Many times I schedule the sessions for a location nearest to the clients if they are staying on property with access such as Rosemary Beach, Alys Beach, Seaside, Watercolor, Watersound or any of the various homes and condos that may have access. Some locations are incredibly crowded and I will advise you if I think we should photograph someplace else.
What time will the session take place?
This depends on the location. For beach sessions, I will consult my calendar for the sunset time and work from there, typically about one hour prior to sunset. Occasionally, in the event of weather canceling our shoot, sunrise may be an option as well.
How far in advance should I book?
Never hesitate to contact me at the last minute; however, for peak season (Spring Break, Memorial Day-Labor Day), I recommend planning two-three months in advance.
What should we wear?
Always keep things interesting! Don’t be afraid to go outside of the box. Remember that pattern and texture are great ways to jazz things up. For non-beach shoots, please pay careful attention to your shoes, they can make or break an outfit. For a few ideas on family beach portrait outfits, check my Pinterest board. If you’ve given us an idea of where in your home you’ll be displaying the images, we may be able to suggest wardrobe based on the color palette of the room.
