Laura and Josh were married in a beautiful destination ceremony at the lovely Bentley’s on the Bay. I just loved the soft white and light pink colors along with a touch of feathers that Cari Degregorio put together for Laura’s floral designs. And oh my… those hydrangea bouquets… I’ve never seen anything like them! They were so perfect, full, and white. A Bride’s Ride helped Laura and Josh find the perfect getaway car. This antique Packard has the sweetest owner/driver and he takes great care of his sweet ride. Laura and Josh’s 65 guests dined on yummy food from Sugarcane Catering (everyone loves the tuna by the way <wink>)and treated to a wedding cake from Confections on the Coast. For a little fun, the couple provided custom printed sunglasses for the guests to wear during the reception. The entire day was wonderful and I couldn’t ask for a sweeter couple. birmingham_wedding_photography

Scarlett and Matt were married at Bentley’s on the Bay in a very beautiful, intimate ceremony witnessed by eight of their closest family members. Following the ceremony the celebration expanded to include lots of friends and family from all over the states. Scarlett chose a color palette of purples and Celestine’s Special Occasions helped bring it to life! They put together a lounge area under the porch and carried the theme throughout the tables inside and out. Fatty Patty’s designed the brides white butter cream cake and the grooms chocolate Crimson Tide cake. With a little bit of time to spare between festivities, Scarlett, Matt, and I took a quick trip over into Grayton Beach State Park for some special photos of the newly married couple.

Best wishes to you Scarlett and Matt and thank you for trusting me with this special part of your day!birmingham_wedding_photographer

You may remember Devon and Sean from their engagement session last November. Well their big day went off without a hitch a few weeks ago! A lovely beach house, Gulf Paradise was the setting for their entire event. After the destination beach ceremony, their guests enjoyed tasty food from The Culinary Gallery, dancing, and a yummy cake baked by Heidi at Bake My Day! The small touches were perfect… birdseed hearts hanging from a little tree in the entry way served as favors. The guests each collected a seashell, made a wish, and tossed it into the Gulf for Devon and Sean. Devon made the cute little cake topper birds nest and framed photographs of the married couples going back generations in their family were placed on the shelves and mantles of the house. The whole day was beautiful and had so many special touches that embodied their personalities. Congratulations Devon and Sean!

Wedding season is officially in full swing!

First up on the blog this year are the lovely Laurie and Julian. This sweet couple was married at Rutherfords 465 in Regatta Bay. Their ceremony took place outside in the lawn area. Laurie’s black, white, and red vision was beautifully executed by Brandi of Your Aisle Awaits and Florals by the Sea. The Cake Destination made the polka dot wedding cake and orchestrated the color coordinated candy bar which was a huge hit with the guests! I had a great time spending the day with Laurie and Julian’s families and capturing beautiful images of their celebration along the way. Congratulations Laurie and Julian!!

erica: lori.. you were a beautiful bride! this is erica (swope) from middle school and high school! :) you were lucky to have candice as your photographer.. she did an amazing job!!

Laurie: Hey Erica how are you? It's been a long time, thank you for the comment. Are you still in the Destin area?

I’m so glad to be posting these! Brittany and Fred had a beautiful wedding on the beach in Destin. They rented the amazing Casa Destino in Destiny by the Sea and with the help of Robyn from Mix Mingle Glow, transformed it into a stunning wedding and reception venue. The gorgeous florals were put together by Celestine’s Special Occasions and fit the color palette perfectly. After their beach ceremony their guests went inside for cocktail hour and then ventured back out on to the beach during one of the best sunsets *ever* for a relaxing dinner on the water. As the sun fell and dinner was completed everyone went back inside for dancing and cake. They partied late into the night and their guests had a blast!

amanda suanne: beautiful job! that was a fun wedding :D

Michelle King: Candice- What an awesome job!

Mix Mingle Glow: Thank you for being so amazing to work with Candice. The Brides love you and the end result continuously blows me away. I adore working with you and am always honored to have our wedding design featured on your blog!

Ashley Livingston: Beautiful Candice!! Love it. Just had to stop by and tell you so :)

Brynn: Love the flowers in the hair! Really a great destination wedding touch!

Lisa: Every single photo is beautiful! Great job!

Mark Martinez: Beautiful work!

Congratulations to Tiffany and Alan! Their wedding day was beautiful and wonderfully handled by Robyn of Mix Mingle Glow at Bayside in Sandestin. Tiffany’s gown was designed by Maggie Sottero and the super cute (totally rewearable!) bridesmaids dresses came from J Crew. Florals by the Sea put together the fresh arrangements with orchids, roses, and hydrangea. I really loved the gorgeous ceremony arrangements and rose petal aisle which the florist very cleverly made sure would not blow away in the slightly windy weather. We took a short ride over to the beach for some photos of the whole crew and Tiffany and Alan together. They shared their first dance to Only You Can Love Me This Way by Keith Urban and kept the party going with help from BBoy Productions. And now to see the TON of pics I’ve chosen to show from this day… Thanks Tiffany and Alan, I’m so happy for you both!

Ah! Finally. I’ve come back to post Brittany and Kevin’s wedding photos! Brittany and Kevin traveled from Texas for their destination wedding at the Santa Rosa Beach Club. Brittany was a beautiful bride in her gorgeous beaded, sweetheart neckline gown. Their wedding party was so sweet and lovely to work with and included Brittany’s youngest sister who was just darling in her custom matching bridesmaid’s gown. The girls got their dresses from JCrew and they were able to order extra matching fabric to have her sisters dress made! After a terrace ceremony, everyone went down to the beach to make a wish and toss their shell into the Gulf while the great staff at the Santa Rosa Beach Club quickly rearranged the terrace for their outdoor reception. Brittany and Kevin’s cornelli-lace cake and Boston Red Sox grooms cake came from Fatty Patty’s. Thank you Kevin and Brittany for letting me be a part of your day!

In case you can’t already tell… I have NO time to blog this summer! Just getting everything out on time takes up about 18 hours of every day right now. Fall is around the corner though, so expect me to start spitting out blogs of all the great sessions and weddings this summer when the air cools off and my crazy schedule cools down with it.

Today I wanted to share some photos from Brittany’s bridal shoot. We went out a few days after the wedding to grab a few more shots of Brittany in her beautiful gown and came out with some beautiful images. Tomorrow I’m going to hopefully find some time to blog the wedding as it’s long over due (along with a ton of others!).

This week was a little crazy because my proofing system really started fouling things up around here, so I have a brand new proofing gallery and cart system and I’m already hearing how wonderful it is from the few clients whose galleries have been posted to it. There are a ton more choices, tools, and options that I know everyone will love!

Don’t be afraid to leave me comments on the blog… I would love to hear what you think if you happen to be cruising by!

David F.: These are really good Candice, the last one is my favorite

Sara: I love the driftwood one and the close up, really pretty!

I met Amanda and her awesome mom Kim early last fall and knew immediately that Amanda and Brian’s wedding would be fabulous and totally relaxed. With the help of Bella Flora, Amanda and Brian’s wedding went off without a hitch at the amazing Atypical beach house in Grayton Beach. Amanda, who was a positively beautiful bride, and Brian hosted their family and close friends for a beach wedding and courtyard reception with delicious food and a close-knit atmosphere. Fatty Patty’s provided the super cute cupcake tower and a cool ping-pong table grooms cake! I thoroughly enjoyed spending the day with these two families and hope they continue to spend their most memorable days on our gorgeous beaches. Thank you Amanda, Brian, and your wonderful family and friends!

I’m such a bad blogger!

Well, we’ve been deep in the off-season here in Florida, so there has not been much going on. Starting this month though things should start getting busy!
In the meantime I managed to take off for a week to Las Vegas at MGM and attend WPPI which is the most amazing convention for wedding and portrait photographers from all over the world. The tradeshow was HUGE and I checked out all the awesome products available to offer my clients. I really enjoyed the classes as well, especially the class Jerry Ghionis taught on posing. He’s a phenomenal photographer and very entertaining teacher. The parties were a blast too! We spent the nights hopping from one party to the next. Becker hosted a super cool party in the Real World Suite at the Palms. We had a great time and met so many great photographers.

On Tuesday a group of us from the [b] school followed our fearless leaders, Chris and Allie, to the Neon Boneyard. Chris and Allie put together an awesome group of models, made sure they had clothes to wear, makeup and hair done, and organized all 35+ of us for the shoot. It’s probably going to take me two posts to blog my favs from the shoot! The boneyard was so cool… All the old signs collected from Vegas landmarks in one place. Check out the shots and tell me which one is your fav!

In no particular order…
